Best New Year’s Champagnes and Sparkling Wines

2026 is almost upon us, and there is nothing more traditional than a champagne toast! There are a lot of options for sparkling wines out there, and below are my top four Traditional Method sparkling wines that I’d recommend to end your 2025 on a delicious note!

Marie de Moy Champagne

This is one of my favorite champagnes. It’s moderately affordable for true champagne from Champagne, France, tastes fantastic, and is an excellent start to your new year!

Louis Bouillot Cremant

This sparkling wine is a budget-friendly bottle made using the Champagne method, but from Burgundy (only a few hundred miles from Champagne). This bottle is one of my all-time favorite go-tos when I want bubbles without spending a lot.

Schramsberg

From their brut rose to the highest tier J Schram, these wines from Napa are absolutely amazing (and I’m not just saying that because I’m a member, I’m a member because they’re amazing)

Lanson Champagne

On the outskirts of Reims, France, has its own vineyard in the city and a rich heritage of making absolutely delicious champagnes.

Honorable mentions of my choices this New Year's are:

  • Olema Cremant De Loire - from the Loire Valley in France, this cremant has all the flavor and boldness of champagne, but at a fraction of the cost, making it perfect for New Year's!

  • Veuve Clicquot Brut Rosé Champagne - I had a bottle with my family as we watched my nieces open Christmas presents, and was pleasantly surprised by how well the non-vintage bottle tasted. While a little pricey, it is good quality!

  • Maison Ruinart - These aren’t the cheapest champagnes, but they are definitely worthy of a bottle for a celebration. The bottle's uniqueness, the history of perfecting the method dating back to 1729, and its deliciousness make this an excellent recommendation for your celebration!
