About The Wine
Mark 1 ("M1") is engineering nomenclature that signifies the first version of a product.
As an engineer and sommelier, this was the perfect marriage of my two passions.
M1 honors my late mother, Auggie, who embodied the pursuit of science and passion in life.
My mother was my best friend, biggest inspiration in life, and shaped the person I am today.
The teal band of Babbitt M1 pays homage to her and her battle with ovarian cancer.
Behind The Wine
2024 M1 is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from La Herradura vineyard in St. Helena at the base of Howell Mountain.
M1 was barreled in 100% New French Oak (20 months in barrel)
This wine is the perfect balance of fruit notes and earthy flavors.
Tasting notes include: Black Cherry, Black Currant, Blackberry, Graphite, Crushed Gravel, Vanilla, and Allspice.
Only 25 cases (300 bottles) were produced.
